The Master Builder was one of the Old Gods, and was worshiped by the Hammerite Order during the Bresling Reign. Representing the order and stability of masonry and architecture, he was lesser-known than his more chaotic counterpart, the Trickster, never actually appearing in physical form.

By the time of the Northcrest Reign, worship of the Old Gods has been outlawed completely. Through a combination of propaganda, institutionalization, and preaching the way forward through industrial and technological advancements, the people of the City have thus stopped worshiping the Builder, and the Old God has passed into the realm of legend and superstition.

Trivia[]

  • Despite not appearing as prominently as the Trickster, evidence of the Master Builder and the old Hammerite Order can still be seen in the remains of demolished houses of worship, such as Our Lady of the Iron Litany and the Old Cathedral.
    • Both of these sites were likely constructed by members of the Hammerite Order.
